AML and Verification at Mad Casino

This page sets out, in plain terms, how we meet our anti-money-laundering (AML) obligations and when we will ask you to verify your identity. These checks protect your funds and keep our platform compliant with the conditions of our Curaçao licence.

Our AML Commitment

Mad Casino operates under licence number OGL/2026/1234/0567 issued by the Curaçao Gaming Authority, and we hold ourselves to the anti-money-laundering and counter-terrorism-financing standards attached to that licence. We launched in 2025 as part of Mad Entertainment B.V., and since day one our compliance programme has covered customer due diligence, transaction monitoring, suspicious activity reporting and staff training.

Money laundering through online gambling takes many forms, from deposited funds of unclear origin to rapid deposit-and-withdraw cycles with minimal play. Our compliance team, led by our Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), screens every new account, watches transaction patterns and files reports to the relevant authorities where the law requires it. We do not tolerate the use of our platform as a payment channel.

When We Verify Your Identity

Three trigger points

We verify customers at three defined moments: at registration, where we screen your details against sanctions and politically exposed person (PEP) lists; before your first withdrawal; and at any point where your deposits, withdrawals or playing behaviour cross internal risk thresholds. Verification before a first withdrawal is mandatory and there is no way to skip it.

  • Government-issued photo ID (passport, driver licence or national ID card), valid and showing all four corners
  • Proof of address dated within the last three months (utility bill, bank statement or council rates notice)
  • Proof of payment method ownership, such as a card photo with the middle digits covered or a crypto wallet screenshot showing your address
  • In some cases, a selfie holding your ID next to a handwritten code we send you

How Verification Works

From upload to approval

The process is deliberately simple. You upload your documents through the secure verification portal inside your account, our compliance officers review them, and you receive the result by email and in-platform notification. Most reviews finish well inside the 48-hour window our licence requires, and straightforward cases are often cleared within a few hours.

  • Open the Verification tab in your account and select the document type you are uploading
  • Photograph or scan the document in full colour, with all edges visible and no glare
  • Upload the file and repeat for each requested document
  • Track the status in your account while our team reviews the submission
  • Receive written confirmation once your account is fully verified

How we protect your documents

Your files travel over an encrypted connection and sit in access-controlled storage that only our compliance team can reach. We never share verification documents with third parties for marketing purposes, and we apply the same retention and deletion rules described at the end of this page. Redact everything except the details we specifically request, such as the card number middle digits.

Source of Funds Requests

For most players, identity verification is as far as our checks go. Where your activity suggests elevated risk, we may ask you to show where the money you play with actually comes from. This is a source of funds (SOF) request, and it is a standard part of licensed gambling operations rather than an accusation.

We typically trigger an SOF request when a single deposit or a run of deposits exceeds 10,000 AUD, when cumulative deposits sit far above what your stated profile suggests, or when wagering patterns look like funds movement rather than play. Acceptable evidence includes recent payslips, bank statements showing regular income, a tax assessment, a documented sale of an asset, or evidence of crypto holdings you have transferred in. We assess what you send us within 48 hours and treat it in strict confidence.

Monitoring Your Transactions

Deposits, withdrawals and the same-method rule

Every deposit and withdrawal on our platform passes through automated screening before it settles. Deposits are checked against sanctions lists and your own account history; withdrawals are matched against your verified identity, your deposit pattern and the payment method on file. The minimum deposit and minimum withdrawal are both 30 AUD, and you may withdraw up to 16,000 AUD per day and 80,000 AUD per month.

We apply a same-method withdrawal rule: funds go back to the same card, e-wallet or crypto address you used to deposit, up to the amount you put in through that method. Any surplus can go to another verified method in your name. Where we cannot return funds to the original method, for example an expired card, we send them by bank transfer after re-verifying the destination account. We charge no fees on withdrawals, and processing runs at crypto speeds of instant to 1 hour, e-wallets within 24 hours, and cards and bank transfers within 1 to 5 business days.

Method typeProcessing time
Crypto (BTC, ETH, LTC, USDT)Instant to 1 hour
E-wallets (Skrill, MiFinity, Jeton)0 to 24 hours
Cards and bank transfer1 to 5 business days

If Verification Fails

What we do and what you can do

If your documents are missing, unreadable or inconsistent with your account details, we place a temporary hold on withdrawals while your deposits remain visible in your balance. You keep access to your account and to our support team throughout, and we tell you exactly which document failed and why. You then have 30 days to supply corrected evidence.

Where verification fails outright, where the documents appear altered, where the account belongs to someone other than the registrant, or where we hold a reasonable suspicion of money laundering, we suspend the account, freeze the balance and escalate the matter to our MLRO. Frozen funds are either returned to a verified payment method in your name, once the issue is resolved, or handled in line with instructions from the authorities. Accounts opened from restricted jurisdictions, including the USA, UK, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Portugal and Romania, are closed on detection.

How Long We Keep Documents

We retain your verification records for five years after your account closes, or five years after the date of an occasional transaction, whichever our licence and the applicable record-keeping rules require. Retention exists for a reason: regulators may audit our files, law enforcement may request evidence, and long-term records let us reconstruct any transaction if a dispute or investigation arises years later.

Once the retention period ends, we delete or irreversibly anonymise your documents. If you close your account before then, the clock starts on your closure date, and you can request written confirmation of deletion once the period lapses. Our support team at [email protected] answers any questions about what we hold on you, and you may request a copy of your records at any time under our data access process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need to verify my identity before my first withdrawal?

Our Curaçao licence requires us to confirm that every withdrawing player is who they claim to be, is of legal age and is not on a sanctions list. The check happens once, and verified accounts then enjoy faster withdrawals, including crypto payouts within an hour.

How long does verification take at Mad Casino?

Our compliance team reviews documents within 48 hours, and most straightforward submissions clear in a few hours. You can track the status of each document in the Verification tab of your account.

When would you ask me for proof of source of funds?

Typically when deposits exceed 10,000 AUD in a single transaction or a short series, or when your cumulative deposits are far above the level your profile suggests. Payslips, bank statements, tax assessments or evidence of crypto holdings all work as evidence.

Can I withdraw to a different method than I deposited with?

We return funds to the same method you used to deposit, up to the deposited amount. Any surplus can be paid to another verified method in your own name, and we never process withdrawals to accounts belonging to third parties.
